Eine kleine Wohnung seit dem 11.01.2022 /A small flat since 11.01.2022
Da ich immer noch auf meine Visumsverlängerung warte und leider ohne Auto bin musste ich mit eine kleine günstige Wohnung in einem sicheren Umfeld suchen. Bin dank Mwanawasa in Westdene https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westdene,_Johannesburg gelandet, denn er wusste das hier eine kleine Wohnung leersteht.
Habe eine kleine Terrasse, eine Kochnische (deshalb gehe ich nicht mehr essen und genieße das kochen) und es stand ein Bett bzw. 2 Matratzen drin. Okay, musste ein paar Kleinigkeiten kaufen, aber immer noch besser als ein Hotel und mit 180€ die günstigste Lösung.
Also lasse ich mich erstmal hier nieder und die Nachbarn sind in der Anlage alles total Nett. Der eine ist Rapper, der andere spielt Saxophon, einer macht Art usw.. Auf jeden Fall achtet hier jeder auf jeden , es gibt vor jeder Wohnung bzw Eingang ein Metalltor was man abschließen muss . Aber bisher macht alles einen sicheren Eindruck, Ich wohne in einem 2er Block und teile mir den Eingang mit Komotzo sie arbeitet für Communities und Schulen und kümmert sich um Familien und Kinder.
Habe schon einige Leute kennengelernt, wir hatten auch schon eine kleine Party bei mir abends trfft man sich schon mal auf ein Bier und jeder der die Anlage verlässt grüßt freundlich oder fragt wie es einem geht..
Das Einkaufzentrum ist um die Ecke oder man meldet sich bei Kim die ein TucTuc fährt. Außerdem kann ich hir meine Runden drehen und das mache ich fast jeden morgen.

As I am still waiting for my visa extension and unfortunately without a car, I had to look for a small, cheap flat in a safe environment. Thanks to Mwanawasa, I ended up in Westdene https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westdene,_Johannesburg, because he knew that there was a small flat vacant here.
Got a small terrace, a kitchenette (that's why I don't eat out anymore and enjoy cooking) and there was a bed or 2 mattresses in it. Okay, had to buy a few little things, but still better than a hotel and at 180€ the cheapest solution.
So I settle down here for the time being and the neighbours are all totally nice in the complex. One is a rapper, the other plays the saxophone, one makes art and so on. In any case, everyone here looks out for everyone else, there is a metal gate in front of each flat or entrance that you have to lock. I live in a block of 2 and share the entrance with Komotzo who works for communities and schools and looks after families and children.
I've already met a few people, we've already had a small party at my place in the evening, we meet for a beer and everyone who leaves the complex says hello in a friendly way or asks how you're doing.
The shopping centre is around the corner or you can get in touch with Kim, who drives a TucTuc. I can also do my rounds here, which I do almost every morning.
