Der Park https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mapungubwe-Nationalpark liegt hoch im Norden von Limpopo und gehört zum Unesco Weltkulturerbe.Er liegt am Dreiländereck, von Südafrika, Simbawe und Botswana.
Hier gibt es Archäologie. Auf dem Hügel der Schakale kann
man Überreste von Afrikas ältestem Königsreich bestaunen. Leider ist das
meiste nicht im Museum ausgestellt, sondern in Pretoria.

Sonst konnte man die meisten Straßen leider nicht mit einem
2x2 befahren, war aber trotzdem schön. Bin am ersten Tag gleich mit der Tour
los und bin dann herumgefahren. Elefanten ohne Ende
Man musste 30Minuten ums Camp fahren um zu dem Campingplatz
zu kommen .Leider gab es kein Restaurant bzw. Supermarkt. Hatte mich schon auf
meiner Dosensuppe eingestellt. Dann aber hatte ich ein tolles junges Pärchen
neben mir, die wie die meisten auch über mein Zelt geschmunzelt haben und da
bekam ich erstmal eine kalte Flasche Wasser denn es waren fast 40Grad. Danach
eine Einladung zum kalten Bier, meins haben die dann kaltgestellt und abends
war ich zum Grillen eingeladen. War richtig toll mal eine nette Unterhaltung zu
haben. Abends hat uns dann ein Elefantenbulle besucht der dann wieder abzog.
Um Mitternacht wurde ich von einem schmatzenden Geräusch
geweckt und OH WEH, der Elefant. Gute 2 Meter hinter meinem kleinen Zelt. Die
Erfahrung war unbeschreiblich, als er dann weg gegangen ist dachte ich okay,
nun kannst Du weiterschlafen. Aber nein, er kam zurück, man hörte ihn fressen,
Bäume umschubsen, habe habe ich eine Nacht in meinem Auto verbracht. Trotzdem
möchte ich dieses Erlebnis nicht missen, es war unbeschreiblich.
Am nächsten Morgen haben die Nachbar mir etwas Essen
eingepackt, Eiswürfel gegeben und dann bin ich durch den Park gefahren. Gesehen
habe ich einiges, die Natur ist imposant mit den Bergen.
Habe mich am letzten Tag Stunden lang am Hide hingesetzt und
die verschiedenen Tiere beobachtet. Die Elefanten waren zum Greifen nah J und habe den Giraffen
beim trinken zugeschaut. Wildschweine die im Dreck wühlten , Zebras die im

Situated high in the north of Limpopo and a Unesco World Heritage Site, the park https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mapungubwe_National_Park lies at the border triangle of South Africa, Simbawe and Botswana.
There is archaeology here. On the Hill of Jackals you can marvel at the remains of Africa's oldest kingdom. Unfortunately, most of it is not on display in the museum, but in Pretoria.

Otherwise, unfortunately, you couldn't drive most of the roads with a 2x2, but it was still nice. I started the tour on the first day and drove around and saw a lot of Elephants.
You had to drive around the camp for 30 minutes to get to the campsite. Unfortunately there was no restaurant or supermarket. I had already prepared myself for my tinned soup. But then I had a great young couple next to me who, like most of the others, were smiling about my tent and I got a cold bottle of water because it was almost 40 degrees. Then I was invited to a cold beer, they put mine on ice and in the evening I was invited to a Braai It was really great to have a nice chat. In the evening, we were visited by a bull elephant, which then left again.
At midnight I was woken up by a smacking noise and then I saw him. The elephant good 2 metres behind my small tent. The experience was indescribable, when he left I thought okay, now you can go back to sleep. But no, he came back, you could hear him eating, pushing over trees, I spent a night in my car. Nevertheless, I don't want to miss this experience, it was indescribable.
The next morning the neighbours packed me some food, gave me ice cubes and then I drove through the park. I saw a lot, the nature is impressive with the mountains.
On the last day I sat down at the hide for hours and watched the different animals. The elephants were within reach and I watched the giraffes drinking. Warthogs were digging in the dirt , zebras stucked in mud, etc. Then a plop and a Rock monitor https://animalia.bio/rock-monitor fell from the roof. Great experience
