Besuch einer Büffelfarm/Visit to a buffalo farm

Charlotte und ich sind dann etwa 7 Stunden durch die das Bundesland Limpopo gefahren um Ihre Familie zu besuchen.

Kurze Info zu Limpopo!

Die nördlichste Provinz Südafrikas erhielt ihren Namen 2002 nach dem Fluss Limpopo, der die Grenze zu Simbabwe markiert. Im Westen grenzt die Provinz an Botswana und im Osten an Mosambik. Limpopo ist relativ dünn besiedelt. Auf einer Fläche von rund 120.000 Quadratkilometern – das entspricht einem Drittel von Deutschland – leben gut fünf Millionen Einwohner. Das Klima ist subtropisch, die Sommer sind heiß und feucht, die Winter mild. Tropische Früchte und Tee werden angebaut. Die wichtigste Straße ist die N1 (Great North Road), die von Johannesburg nach Harare führt. Der gesamte nördliche Krüger Park gehört zu Limpopo – ebenfalls die Waterberge, wo es einige der schönsten Wildreservate Südafrikas gibt.

Wir sind durch einige Busch und Farmlandschaften gefahren (30% Bananen/ 80% Mangos / 70% Avocados / 35% Zitrusfrüchte /30% Tomaten. und 20% Tee) durch Tzaneen https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tzaneen gekommen. Früher wurde hier auch Tee angebaut, da man aber beschlossen hat das Land and die ersten Besitzer zurück zugeben ,sind die meisten Felder verwuchert.

Haben den weißen Stern von Zion City https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zion_Christian_Church auf dem Bergrücken von Moria gesehen.

Der Davidstern ist das Symbol der ZCC, und die beiden Gemeinden, aus denen die Kirche besteht, werden heute von den Enkeln ihres Gründers - Barnabas Lekganyane und Saint Engenas Lekganyane - geleitet. Die ZCC zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass sie den Schwerpunkt auf Glaubensheilung, Reinigungsriten, Tanzen, Nachtkommunion, Flusstaufe, den Heiligen Geist, Tabus und Prophetie legt.

Unterwegs haben wir den 3000 Jahre alten Baobab Baum besucht https://baobabstories.com . Das ist der Baum des Lebens (Tree of Live) .

Sind über den Magoebaskloof Pass zwischen Tzaneen und Polokwane weitergefahren, es ist eine tolle grüne Bergregion, die von natürlichen immergrünen subtropischen Wäldern bedeckt ist und sind dann über zahlreiche Dörfer bei der Buffalo Creek Farm https://www.buffalocreekgameranch.co.za/contact/ angekommen und hatten 4 tolle Tage. Habe miterleben können, wie man hier Büffel betäubt und transportiert, Tiere zum Jagen ausgesucht werden und das einiges reines Prestige ist wenn man Geld hat. Außerdem konnte ich mal ein paar Schießübungen machen.

Ein Huhn (keine Ahnung was es kann) kostet umgerechnet 60€ und nein, es legt keine goldenen Eier :-)

Ein Büffel wurde von Jägern erledigt und hat umgerechnet 5500,00€ gekostet.

Dann werden hier die Ankole Rinder https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watussirind gezüchtet. Die leider auch nicht als Nutztiere verwendet werden.

Habe in den 4 Tagen einiges gelernt und erlebt und wurde von der Familie herzlich aufgenommen 💗

Short info about Limpopo!

The northernmost province of South Africa got its name in 2002 after the Limpopo River, which marks the border to Zimbabwe. The province borders Botswana to the west and Mozambique to the east. Limpopo is relatively sparsely populated. A good five million inhabitants live in an area of around 120,000 square kilometres - the equivalent of one third of Germany. The climate is subtropical, the summers are hot and humid, the winters mild. Tropical fruits and tea are grown. The most important road is the N1 (Great North Road), which leads from Johannesburg to Harare. The entire northern Kruger Park belongs to Limpopo - also the Waterbergs, where there are some of the most beautiful game reserves in South Africa.

Tea used to be grown here, but since they decided to give the land back to the first owners, most of the fields are overgrown.

The Star of David is the symbol of the ZCC, and the two congregations that make up the church are now led by the grandsons of its founder - Barnabas Lekganyane and Saint Engenas Lekganyane. The ZCC is distinguished by its emphasis on faith healing, purification rites, dancing, night communion, river baptism, the Holy Spirit, taboos and prophecy.

We drove over the Magoebaskloof Pass between Tzaneen and Polokwane, a beautiful green mountain region covered by natural evergreen subtropical forests and arrived at Buffalo Creek Farm https://www.buffalocreekgameranch.co.za/contact/ and had 4 great days. I saw how buffalo are getting darted here, how animals are selected for hunting and that some things are pure prestige if you have money. Also I could do some shooting .

Some of the chickens (no idea what it can do) costs the equivalent of 60€ and no, it does not lay golden eggs :-)

A buffalo was killed by hunters and cost the equivalent of 5500.00€.
