Empfehlenswerte Lokale und spaziergang zur Centurion Mall /Recommended places to eat and walk to Centurion Mall
Diesmal zeige ich Euch mal ein paar Lokale die ich in der Woche aufgesucht habe und dazu einer der vielen Shopping Malls.

Hier habe ich eine Eisbein auf Südafrikanischer Art probiert.
Das heißt es wurde drei Stunden gekocht und dann kurz frittiert. Seltsam aber trotzdem sehr lecker
Dazu hausgemachtes Sauerkraut (ungekocht und kalt) und Kartoffelpüree (nicht so wie wir es kennen) Fazit: das Lokal ist sehr zu empfehlen, die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und total freundlich und halten auch mal einen kurzen Schwatz
War 2 mal dort und als ich mich gesetzt habe, hat der Kellern der mich Tage vorherschon bedient hat (da hatte ich Schnecken in cremiger Soße-leider ohne Bild) mir schon mein Bier bestellt :-)

1 großes Bier 500ml= 2,14
1 Jägermeister Shot = 1,61€
Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen und hat auch einige andere Südafrikanische Gerichte auf der Karte, sowie Steaks, Sparerips usw.
Labora Werft/Cafe Labora und Stadsport Gin in einem !
Dann war ich einen Tag mal in einem Cafe der Kuchen , Burger , Snacks und Salat verkauft und mit Bier und Gin. Laut Tripadvisor auch mit Pizza, nur habe ich da keine auf der Karte gesehen.
"Wir begannen mit der Entwicklung des Containers im Jahr 2009. Der erste Schritt war viel Recherche und Brainstorming, einige Experten und dann Design, gefolgt von einem langwierigen Genehmigungsprozess. Das Ziel mit dem Gelände war es, einen interessanten Raum zu schaffen, in dem kleinere Unternehmen tätig sein können, die Arbeit und Gewinne schaffen. Die Mischung der Unternehmen war immer ein Schlüsselfaktor. Zwei Gin-Destillerien, eine Brauerei, ein Café, ein Taproom, eine Bekleidungsmarke, Flüssiggas, Pizza...
Muss sagen (leider war ich der einzige Gast) ist ist geschmackvoll gemacht, ein netter kleiner Innenhof zum sitzen und gemütlich mit Stühle, Bänke und kein Plastikmobiliar.
Beide Lokale waren etwa 2KM zu Fuß von meiner Unterkunft entfernt. Man musste nur :-) eine der 6 spurigen Hauptstrasse überqueren. Leider geht in Südafrika keiner gerne zu Fuß und nutzt Uber oder Bold . Kosten für 2KM etwa 2€
Centurion Shopping Mall und Parrots Restaurant
Von dort kann man auch weiter zu Fuß in die Centurion Shoppingmall https://centurionmall.co.za/
Dies Mall ist sehr sauber, man hat viele tolle Geschäfte. Habe mich dann nach dem Bush eingekleidet, da ich ja auch aus gehe :-) (Levis Jeans 58€, Kleid 23€ , Lederschuhe 76,20, Poncho 30,00€ und Kosmetika (man brauchte nach dem Bush echt Fusspflege , Fettcreme, Nagellack ,Haarpflege und sonstiges was die Frau so nicht wirklich braucht ;-)) 12,80€.
Für uns ist das Einkaufen dort sehr günstig. Leider für die meisten Einheimischen unerschwinglich, wenn man das Einkommen sieht. Ausserdem fällt ma als Europäerin auf, denn ich habe noch Shorts an und Trägertaop denn Tagsüber sind noch etwa 27 Grad. Die Südafrikanser frieren schon und tragen Winterkleidung.
Das einzige Lokal wo man draußen sitzen konnte und auch eine tolle Sicht hatte war das PARROTS http://www.parrotsrestaurants.co.za/
Dort hatte ich dann Sushi inklusive einer Flasche Weißwein für 23,00€ bezahlt. Was nicht so günstig , aber lecker war und die Ausicht war toll und man konnte draußen sitzen.
War dort auch schon zum 2ten Mail, am ersten Tag gab es Dönerwrab und ein Bier für 4,80€

This time I'll show you a few places I visited during the week and one of the many Shopping Malls.

Here I tried a South African style Eisbein.
That means it was boiled for three hours and then deep-fried for a short time. Strange but still very tasty
Served with homemade sauerkraut (uncooked and cold) and mashed potatoes (not the way we know it). Conclusion: the restaurant is highly recommended, the staff is attentive and totally friendly and will even stop for a quick chat.
I was there the 2 times and when I sat down, the waiter who had served me days before (I had snails in creamy sauce - unfortunately without a picture) had already ordered my beer :-).

Definitely recommended and also has some other South African dishes on the menu, as well as steaks, sparerips etc.
Labora Shipyard/Cafe Labora and Stadsport Gin in one
Then one day I went to a cafe that sells cakes , burgers , snacks and salad and with beer and gin. According to Tripadvisor it also has pizza, but I didn't see any on the menu.

Two gin distilleries, a brewery, a café, a taproom, a clothing brand, LPG, pizza....
Must say (unfortunately I was the only guest) is ta nice place with a nice little courtyard to sit and cosy with chairs, benches and no plastic furniture.
The gin and beer were to be recommended and the advice from the waiter was also perfect. You were also allowed to taste and he let you smell every gin.
Had 1 gin, 2 craft beers , 1 burger with side salad and that for 16,20€.
Both pubs were about 2KM walk from my accommodation. You just had to :-) cross one of the 6 lane main roads.
Centurion Shopping Mall and Parrots Restaurant
From there you can also walk to the Centurion Shopping Mall https://centurionmall.co.za/. Unfortunatelly the people do not like to walk the prefer Uber or Bold Taxi
This Mall is very clean and has many great shops. I got dressed after the Bush for my Bar Hopping :-) (Levis Jeans 58€, dress 23€, leather shoes 76,20, poncho 30,00€ and cosmetics (after the Bush I really needed foot care, grease cream, nail polish, hair care and other things a woman doesn't really need ;-)). 12,80€.
For us, shopping there is very cheap. Unfortunately, it is unaffordable for most locals, considering their income. Besides, as a European, I stand out because I'm still wearing shorts and a tank top because it's still about 27 degrees during the day. The South Africans are already freezing and wearing winter clothes.
The only place where you could sit outside and have a great view was PARROTS http://www.parrotsrestaurants.co.za/.
There I had sushi including a bottle of white wine for 23.00€. It wasn't that cheap, but it was delicious and the view was great and you could sit outside.
